Some of DOA Xtreme 2‘s mini-games are coming back for the third game, as shown in the latest trailer from Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 is the third chapter of the beach-themed DOA spin-off series, scheduled to launch exclusively for Sony consoles next year. Each game features an all-female cast of playable characters from the core Fighter series going head-to-head in various beach sports; Xtreme 3‘s roster was chosen by a Japanese-exclusive poll. The Xbox-exclusive debut title only featured volleyball, while the 360-exclusive sequel expanded the activities to feature water-slide races, flag racing, tug-of-war, jet-ski racing and other competitive games.
Developer Team Ninja and publisher Koei Tecmo have released a new batch of screenshots showing Soft Engine 2.0 in action, with real-time lighting, water effects and tan-lines. The trailer is somewhat short, but the new footage also showcases the return of the tug-of-war, pool-hopping, and King of the Hill “butt bumping” mini-games.
Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will release exclusively for Japan and the southeast Asian market on 2/25. Both the PS4 (“Fortune”) and PS Vita/TV (“Venus”) versions will include English subtitles, along with Collector’s Editions currently available for pre-order.
