‘Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-‘ Releases Tomorrow For PC

In a sleeper announcement from Arc System Works, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- was confirmed for PC, and will go live on Steam tomorrow morning.

A brief foreign rating listing and a leaked roster of upcoming Steam releases may have prematurely spoiled the surprise, but Arc System Works is bringing the latest Guilty Gear title to PC. Originally released in Japanese arcades and later brought to Sony consoles, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is the first title in the core series to feature 3D character models and environments; the game was developed using a heavily modified version of Unreal Engine 3 to emulate the franchise’s trademark anime style.

While the supported resolutions and frame rate of the PC version are currently unclear- the PS3 and PS4 versions were locked at different specs- the Steam release of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will include most of the offline and online features of its console counterparts. Players can still join rooms and go head-to-head in online matches, however the PC version will not have cross-platform play with the console releases; the “Lobby” feature is also absent from the Steam version. The official system requirements are listed below, courtesy of Arc System Works:

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will release tomorrow, 12/9 on Steam. Arc System Works revealed via their Twitter account that Xrd will have an initial launch promotion for the first month; anyone who purchase Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- on Steam within the first month of its release will do so at 20% off ($29.99), with all of the DLC free of charge (Sin, Elphelt, Leo Whitefang, additional color palettes and voices).

Official dates have not been confirmed, however Arc System Works is bringing River City Super Sports Challenge ~All Stars Special~ (Dec. 2015), BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend (Feb. 2016), Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code (Spring 2016) and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late (Summer 2016) all to Steam over the coming months.
