The expanded version of the Sony-exclusive BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma is coming to next-gen and PS3 in just a few weeks.
The BlazBlue saga is one of Arc System Works’s prized fighting game franchises, utilizing a technology-infused Fantasy backdrop against the frantic gameplay found within its spiritual predecessor, Guilty Gear. After a handful of multi-platform titles and spin-offs, the latest chapter of the BlazBlue saga went Sony-exclusive, with BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma.
As with most of the previous versions, Chrono Phantasma is receiving an “Extend” edition; Chrono Phantasma Extend released for Japanese audiences this past April. Earlier today, publisher Aksys revealed the North American release date to be June 30. BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend adds Celica A. Mercury and Lambda-11 to the roster, as both were previously exclusive to the arcade version. Characters Bullet, Kagura, and Kokonoe all have extended Story Mode elements; a new story arc including characters from the manga “BlazBlue: Remix Heart” has also been added to Extend.
BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma Extend will release for PS3, PS4 and Xbox One on 6/30. The PS Vita port will release one month later, on 7/28.
