‘Koihime Enbu’ Gets English Version, Coming To PC Next Month

A fighting game loosely based on Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Koihime Enbu‘s English port lands on Steam this May.

From developer Unknown Games, Koihime Enbu made the leap from arcades to Sony consoles in Japan this past January. A primarily female-fighter akin to Skullgirls, Koihime Enbu is a fighting game based on developer BaseSon’s adult visual novel Koihime Musou; the titles are a reimagined take on the novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms and the surrounding closure of the Han dynasty. Despite being an “anime fighter” of sorts, Koihime Enbu is a “grounded” fighting game, where most of the action happens with both feet on the floor; this isn’t an air-dashing spectacle along the lines of Guilty Gear and other Arc System Works Fighters.

Localized PS3 and PS4 versions have not been announced, however Koihime Enbu will see a PC release this May via Steam. The Steam version will include the Replay Mode found in its console counterparts, along with support for Steam Achievements, Trading Cards and Steam Cloud save data storage. The minimum system requirements are as follows courtesy of Steam:

  • OS: Windows Vista / 7 / 8.1 / 10
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 2GHz or faster processor
  • Memory: 3 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage: 4 GB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectSound
  • Additional Notes: Xbox 360 compatible controller recommended

Koihime Enbu will release for PC on 5/19; those who pre-purchase the game when the store page goes live will receive a 20% launch window discount and a digital copy of the soundtrack.
