Cave and Degica Games are bringing yet another relentless Bullet Hell shooter to Steam later this year with DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu.
During this year’s Cave Festival Event, it was announced that DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu will see a North American release on PC sometime this Fall through Steam, though an official release date was not given. As with other Cave shooters on PC, the title will be published under Degica Games.
Originally released in Japanese arcades, DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu is the fifth installment of Cave’s DoDonPachi series. The franchise is regarded as one of the most relentless series of the Bullet Hell Shoot-Em-Up (“Shmup”) genre, with some stages and bosses flooding the screen with lasers, bullets and anything else left in the kitchen sink. Though DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu never released in the US in its original format, it eventually made its way to the North American App Store and Google Play as DoDonPachi Resurrection. Under publisher Rising Star Games, Europe received the updated DoDonPachi Resurrection: Black Label in 2013 exclusively for the Xbox 360.
Again, an official release date has not been given for the Steam version of DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu. The reveal can be found archived on NicoNico, however a membership is required for access.
