‘DoDonPachi Resurrection’ Coming To PC Next Week

Bullet Hell fans rejoice, another legendary Cave franchise debuts on Steam late next week with DoDonPachi Resurrection.

Bullet Hell Shoot-Em-Ups are designed to test the limits of the player’s arcade skills, however developer Cave pushes the limits of the genre with their own unique entries sure to launch players well past the edges of their sanity.  Levels often feature a relentless barrage of enemy bullets, occasionally resulting in screen-filling chaos. Akai Katana, Deathsmiles and the infamous Mushimesama are among Cave’s most popular franchises, seeing international releases Japan, Europe and North America in both physical and digital formats.

Following its console and mobile releases, DoDonPachi Resurrection (or “DoDonPachi DaiFukkastsu”) will release for PC next Friday through Steam. DoDonPachi adds to the standard Shmup formula with the inclusion of a “Hyper Counter” system allowing players to erase all bullets on-screen, or fire the “Counter Laser” to deal damage while blocking enemy fire. The Steam release includes Steam Achievements, online leaderboards and cloud save support; all content from the previous versions will be available, including three ships with three individual gameplay options, two-player local co-op, and the eight gameplay modes distributed since the original arcade release in Japan:

  • Novice
  • Normal 1.5
  • Normal 1.51
  • Arrange A
  • Arrange B
  • Black Label
  • Black Label Novice
  • Black Label Arrange

The official system requirements are as follows, courtesy of Steam:

  • OS: Windows 7/8/8.1/10
  • Processor: Intel Core i3 2GHz or better
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5000, Geforce 9500GT, Radeon HD 3650 or above
  • DirectX: Version 9.0c
  • Storage: 2500 MB available space
  • Sound Card: DirectSound compatible

DoDonPachi Resurrection will release for PC on 10/13. The Steam page is officially live, however users cannot pre-purchase the title as of this post.
