It may have been outed early due to a leak, however Bethesda gave Skyrim fans the official first-look at the upcoming next-gen remaster.
Released in November 2011, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is regarded as one of the best open-world RPGs of the previous console generation. The fifth core title of Bethesda’s long-running Elder Scrolls series, Skyrim deals with the return of dragons and the world-destroying Alduin. The player assumes the role of the Dragonborn, born with the ability to speak to- and harness the power of dragons- to protect the realm from Alduin’s wrath, while dealing with a political and civil war between Skyrim’s provinces.
Early leaks suggested its existence, however Bethesda just announced The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition for consoles and PC during the Bethesda E3 Showcase segment, alongside new Fallout 4 and Fallout Shelter updates. The updated version features heavily remastered visuals, and the ability to install PC mods for both console versions.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition will release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on 10/28.
