“Standby for Titanfall”, coming this October to PC, Xbox One and PS4.
Titanfall fans got their first glimpse of the upcoming sequel with a brief cinematic teaser earlier last month. Not much was shown, however the brief clip hinted at a new environment or world, and melee-based Titan combat, as suggested by the sword held in the Titan mech’s left hand.
Perhaps it’s in response to this morning’s accidental broadcast of EA’s E3 2016 conference rehearsal, but Respawn Entertainment unveiled the debut single-player gameplay trailer for Titanfall 2 an hour before the official conference. Departing from the original online-only title, Titanfall 2 will include a strictly single-player offline campaign beside the competitive multiplayer modes.
The multiplayer aspect of Titanfall 2 was only touched upon during EA’s E3 conference, however players will have access to six brand new Titans, each with a new arsenal of melee attacks. Along with the parkour and jetpack mechanics of the original, Titanfall 2 Pilots are equipped with grappling hooks that can attach to ledges, walls, Titans, and as shown in the stinger of the new multiplayer trailer, other Pilots.
Titanfall 2 will release on Xbox One, PC and PS4 on 10/28. A closed multiplayer Beta will go live later this year; a window has not been announced, however interested gamers will have the option to sign up through the Titanfall 2 website.
