The bat-and-chameleon duo are back for their Gamescom debut in the latest trailer for Yooka-Laylee.
Yooka-Laylee is the first title to come from developer Playtonic Games, a new studio comprised of former Rare developers; their combined resume includes the likes of the Donkey Kong Country series, Kameo: Elements of Power, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. Playtonic originally presented their Banjo-Kazooie spiritual-successor through a Kickstarter campaign; gamers immediately fell in love with the concept, funding the project just 40 minutes after the campaign launched.
Gamescom 2016 is now in full swing at the Cologne Exhibition Center in Germany. Playtonic is one of many development studios at the annual game and electronics trade fair, showcasing Yooka-Laylee gameplay with a brand new trailer. Fans can expect to see some of the massive environments to explore, a new dump truck transformation, and two iconic staples of the Banjo-Kazooie franchise- googly eyes and farts.
Yooka-Laylee was originally expected to release this year for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Wii U, however the title has since been delayed to Q1 2017.
