‘Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash’ Gameplay Shown In New Trailer

Rival shinobi go head-to-head in water-combat within the debut gameplay trailer for Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash.

Shifting gameplay styles once again, the Senran Kagura franchise now has its sights locked on the competitive shooter genre, with Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash. The first PS4-exclusive title in the series, Peach Beach Splash places the girls in team-based-shooter territory, going head-to-head in 5v5 water-gun matches. Revealed earlier in the week by Marvelous Entertainment, players can level-up and improve characters and weapons with gameplay experience; each weapon has four upgrade tiers, affecting the overall damage output and “ammo” (i.e. water) consumption. Over 30 characters from the Nintendo, Sony and mobile games will be playable, with more coming as future DLC.

Marvelous Entertainment released a new trailer overnight, giving fans the first look at Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash gameplay. Though frantic at times, a handful of unannounced gameplay features can be seen, including close-quarters melee combat, collectible in-game trading cards, a “collectathon” mini-game, and a first-person mode presumably designed for PlayStation VR.

Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash will release exclusively for the PS4 in Japan on 3/16. The title supports PlayStation VR as mentioned above, though PS4 Pro visual perks (4K, HDR) have not been confirmed.
