‘Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3’ Coming To PC And Xbox One This March

Physical next-gen copies and digital Xbox One and PC versions are all in store for Ultimate MVC3 this March.

Though some may argue that it borderlines on sensory-overload, there’s no denying that Capcom’s Marvel VS Capcom saga is one of the Fighter genre’s most successful series of all time- even if it has just three titles. The latest chapter, Marvel VS Capcom 3 saw the classic “video game VS comic book” rivalry evolve for the previous console generation, trading 2D sprites and stage artwork for flashy 3D visuals. The updated Ultimate MVC3 dug into the archives of Capcom and Marvel to bring more newcomers and obscure characters into the franchise. Nearly six years after its original release, MVC3 still attracts one of the largest crowds of both competitors and spectators at EVO.

Following its recent digital release on the PS4, Capcom announced that Xbox One and PC versions of Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 will release this March through Xbox Live and Steam. For those who still enjoy collecting physical games, Capcom will also release physical versions for the Xbox One and PS4 the same day. The physical release will be a limited edition variant, complete with a new prologue comic book and new cover art from Marvel’s Sean Chen and Gerardo Sandoval.

Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 will release digitally on the Xbox One and PC alongside the physical console versions on 3/7; digital copies will be listed at $24.99, with the physical limited edition Xbox One and PS4 versions priced at $29.99.

The fourth installment of the MVC saga, Marvel VS Capcom Infinite is scheduled to release sometime later this year. Infinite features the worlds of Capcom and the Marvel Cinematic Universe battling over control of the Infinity Stones in two-on-two fights, where players can alter the abilities of each character via the titular Infinity Stones.
