Splatoon‘s Nintendo Switch sequel will get a three-day multiplayer online beta, but there’s a slight caveat involving the schedule.
Nintendo is giving Splatoon fans a chance at ink-based warfare with a new “Global Testfire” event for Splatoon 2. Akin to the event of the same name for Splatoon on the Wii U, the Global Testfire will be a three-day event for anyone to participate, so long as they own a Nintendo Switch. There is a slight catch to the “three day” detail of the open beta; the Global Testfire will only be active for a total of six hours across the weekend- two on Friday, three Saturday, and just one on Sunday.
Splatoon 2‘s online beta will include the same content found in the version present at Nintendo Switch Preview Tour events; players will have access to four weapons, including the new “Splat Dualies” and the updated versions of the “Splat Roller” and “Splat Charger”. To participate in the Splatoon 2 Global Testfire, Nintendo Switch owners simply need to download the demo on launch day. The schedule is as follows:
March 24:
- 12-1pm PT
- 8-9pm PT
March 25:
- 4-5am PT
- 12-1pm PT
- 8-9pm PT
March 26:
- 4-5am PT
Splatoon 2 will release sometime this Summer exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
