A staggering 64 Indie titles are heading to the Nintendo Switch this year.
Nintendo hosted a Nintendo Direct broadcast earlier this week dedicated to future independently produced titles for the Nintendo Switch. Dubbed the “Nindies” Nintendo Direct, the video featured the likes of Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment, the debut of Runner3, and a new trailer confirming Yooka-Laylee‘s 2017 Switch release following the cancellation of the Wii U version.
Though release dates and windows were not announced for each individual title, the closing frames of the Nindies Direct confirmed a whopping 64 Indie titles are scheduled to release this year for the Switch: Yooka-Laylee is also joined by crowdfunded games Battle Chef Brigade, ToeJam & Earl: Back in the Groove and Hover: Revolt of Gamers; fan-favorites Cave Story, Terraria, Stardew Valley, Overcooked: Special Edition and The Binding of Issac: Afterbirth+ will also make their way to Nintendo’s console/handheld hybrid in 2017. The Nintendo Switch officially release tomorrow alongside one of 2017’s most anticipated and already critically-acclaimed titles, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
