It’s not quite “1936 + 80 years”, but Cuphead is officially scheduled to release late this September.
Studio MDHR’s hand-drawn and inked side-scroller Cuphead first intrigued audiences during Microsoft’s E3 2014 conference. The frantic action game sees Hell escapees Cuphead and Mugman shooting their way across frantic levels and fighting Bullet Hell inspired bosses against the backdrop of a world inspired by cartoons of the 1930’s.
Cuphead has seen very little in announcements outside its short appearances at the past two E3 and Gamescom conventions, with essentially one trailer releasing per year. Studio MDHR’s title appeared yet again during Microsoft’s E3 2017 presentation with its most important trailer yet, albeit the shortest; after three agonizing years and a bizarre cross-over DLC item with Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, Cuphead will finally release this September.
Cuphead will release for the Xbox One and PC on 9/29.
