The battle against the Heartless crosses into the world of “Toy Story” with the latest Kingdom Hearts III trailer.
One of gaming’s more infamous white whales, it seems Kingdom Hearts III may finally be in the hands of gamers sooner than they think. The long-awaited “third” chapter of Square Enix’s Disney/Final Fantasy cross-over recently received not just one new trailer courtesy of E3 2017, but another this weekend through D23 Expo. Disney’s biennial convention for all things Disney, Marvel and Star Wars revealed a new world highlighted in the upcoming title- that of Pixar’s beloved animated classic, “Toy Story”.
The D23 trailer begins with more gameplay from the world of Disney’s “Hercules” and Mount Olympus, however the new environments of “Toy Story” are what really steal the spotlight; partnered with a brief exchange between Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Hamm and the recently transformed toy versions of Sora, Goofy and Donald, Andy’s house becomes a large-scale battleground between Kingdom Hearts‘s heroes and the Heartless, with battles raging on in Andy’s room, the roof and outside in the front driveway. The fight even takes the rogues gallery of “Toy Story” and Kingdom Hearts characters into the aisles of Galaxy Toys, where Sora and company wage war in “giant” mech suits.
Kingdom Hearts III has a tentative release window of 2018 for the PS4 and Xbox One.
