Despite being released just last year, Comcept’s ReCore is getting a Definitive Edition featuring an HD-overhaul and a few extra gameplay features.
Announced today during Microsoft’s Gamescom 2017 Mixer stream, ReCore will receive an enhanced edition very soon for both the Xbox One and PC. Keeping with the trend of most re-release names this generation, ReCore: Definitive Edition is an updated version of the original, now sporting an ultra-HD and HDR visual overhaul; 4K is supported for capable PCs and the future Xbox One X. The new version also comes equipped with the additional “Eye of Obsidian” mission and a new “T8-NK” Corebot frame. Though ReCore: Definitive Edition will be sold as a stand-alone digital and physical title, anyone who owns the original ReCore for either Xbox One or PC will receive Definitive Edition as a free digital upgrade; Xbox Game Pass members will also gain access to the title upon launch.
ReCore arrived on the Xbox One and PC in 2016 as the latest new IP from Mega Man Zero and Gal*Gun developer Comcept, partnered with the restructured Metroid Prime developers at Armature Studio. Led by Mega Man, Red Ash and Mighty No. 9! creator Keiji Inafune, ReCore told the tale of Joule Adams and her team of Corebots on their journey to unveil what happened to the derelict desert-ridden colony of Far Eden.
ReCore: Definitive Edition will release next week, 8/29 for both the Xbox One and PC.
