The mechanized musician finally makes his playable debut next week, as Big Band will release for the PS3 version of Skullgirls Encore.
What started as an inside Twitch.TV joke, eventually became an April Fool’s Day prank that was so popular, that fans insisted that it became a permanent feature. That said, the April Fool’s Day character “Fukua” will become a permanent addition to the Skullgirls roster.
The “little fighting game that could”, Skullgirls has been faced with numerous publishing problems since its launch. Through thick and thin, the title continues to persevere, as Skullgirls Encore will finally come to Europe on March 19.
Everyone who purchased a copy of the original Skullgirls will receive a voucher from Sony at some point; distribution began last night, but some fans and Lab Zero staff are still waiting to receive a digital copy of Encore.
After several weeks of waiting, today marks the release of Skullgirls Encore on PS3; expect to have access to the Indie “fighter” sometime later this evening.
It’s been a long road for Lab Zero Games, but Skullgirls Encore should be available on consoles by March at the latest, along with the official release of “Big Band” across all versions.
