Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is coming to the North American and European Nintendo eShops, courtesy of publishers XSEED and Marvelous.
Despite its somewhat Japanese-exclusive status, the Senran Kagura franchise has a strong cult-following in the US. While the series features games across several platforms overseas- 3DS, PSP, PS Vita, Mobile and PC- North American and European audiences have only seen localized versions of three installments.
Earlier today, publishers XSEED and Marvelous announced that the Japanese-exclusive 3DS sequel Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson will release for both the North American and European regions. Deep Crimson released in Japan last year, and features dynamic 2.5D angles, compared to Burst‘s static 2D environments. The sequel allows players to participate in online co-op, or switch the control back-and-forth two characters.
XSEED will be handling North American distribution, while Marvelous will be responsible for the European release: Both versions will release through the 3DS eShop, with limited edition physical copies also available for purchase; NA will receive the “Double D” package featuring the physical game and 2-disc soundtrack, while Europe will have a choice of either the physical game or two limited edition packages- the autographed option is already sold out.
Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is currently scheduled to release for the Nintendo 3DS on 8/11.
