The crowdfunded TruForce Collectibles Mega Man X figure is complete, and expected to begin shipping this month.
During the first quarter of the year, collectible producer TruForce Collectibles took to Kickstarter to crowdfund a new Mega Man X figure. The “Mega Man X Action Figure” is actually based on a design that was briefly released by Capcom on April Fool’s Day last year. Even though the last Mega Man X title was released just over a decade ago- and now new titles are on the horizon- the image depicted a sleeker, more mechanical version of X, with production stamps on the chest and leg pieces, individual armor plating and exposed exhaust vents:
After acquiring the rights to proceed from Capcom themselves, TruForce Collectibles took the opportunity to bring the April Fool’s Day design to life, with a brand new collectible figurine. Backers of the crowdfunding campaign successfully contributed $290,656- well over the initial goal of $200,000, thus securing the production and distribution of the figure. TruForce Collectibles released several production photos over the course of the year, with the final images showing the official packaging for the Mega Man X Action Figure:
Each figure is constructed from PVC, ABS and PA, with die-cast armor accents on the chest and legs; the X-Buster is embedded with a red LED in the tip. Standing at 6″ tall, X is fully-posable with 30 individual points of articulation; each package includes extra interchangeable hands and a face, additional “effects” parts, and a display base/stand. The “Blue Bomber” also has a gray variant, however this version is only limited to very fortunate Kickstarter contributors:
An official release date has not been confirmed, however the TruForce Collectibles Mega Man X Action Figure is expected to release later this month. Those who were unable to participate in the Kickstarter campaign can still pre-order the limited edition figure from various collector’s item and niche retailers.
