Making its imposing debut in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the first bi-pedal Metal Gear will be a collectible figure next year.
Metal Gear REX and Metal Gear RAY may have had the biggest impact on fans of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, but a new weaponized mech is entering the legacy of the series by force. Making its debut in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Metal Gear Sahelanthropus is chronologically the first bi-pedal upright nuclear-armed tank under the command of XOF. The immense Metal Gear is one of the most terrifying forces within The Phantom Pain, as it can run and leap through the valleys of Afghanistan, and spot foes from its towering position over the desert mountains.
Japanese collectible manufacturer Sentinel is bringing Metal Gear Sahelanthopus to the collector’s table next year with a new figure. At 28cm/11″ tall, the Metal Gear Sahelanthropus figure is fully posable, with a red LED embedded in the cockpit visor. The figure is capable of transforming into its crouching form, as seen in the latter trailers for The Phantom Pain.
The Metal Gear Sahelanthropus figure from Sentinel is expected to begin shipping in April 2016, and is currently available to pre-order through Play-Asia and Hobby Link Japan.
