One year after its soft-reveal, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 finally has a gameplay trailer.
From the creators of Mega Man Zero, Gal*Gun, and artistic contributor to Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse, Inti Creates finally has a debut trailer for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2. The original 3DS title features Gunvolt, an “Adept” with psychic-powers and the ability to manipulate electricity, on a mission to destroy the powerful Sumeragi Group. Originally released as a digital 3DS-exclusive in August 2014, Azure Striker Gunvolt has since been ported to PC via Steam, with better English translations, optional Japanese voice acting, and a new Speedrun Mode.
Last year, developer Inti Creates announced Gunvolt would return for another title, however the reveal was followed by a drought of information until yesterday’s Nintendo Direct. The debut trailer for Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 re-introduces viewers to Gunvolt, and gives fans a first-look at new playable character Copen; akin to Mega Man‘s Proto Man and Bass, Gunvolt’s rival Copen is an Adept-hunter, capable of assimilating the abilities of fallen bosses. Whereas Gunvolt can “tag” multiple enemies before unleashing a chained lighting attack, Copen’s gameplay is aerial-based, as he can chain air-dashes between enemies for maximum damage.
Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 will release this Summer for the 3DS through the 3DS eShop.
