A sequel to the Mega Man Zero spiritual successor Azure Striker Gunvolt is currently in-development for the Nintendo 3DS.
This weekend, Inti Creates announced that Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 was currently in-development for the 3DS, however no other details have been revealed.
Inti Creates released Azure Striker Gunvolt for the Nintendo 3DS last August. Rather than have players destroy individual enemies, the spiritual successor to the Mega Man and Mega Man Zero franchises has players using Gunvolt’s “Flashfield” ability to tag and eliminate multiple enemies at once. Over the course of the missions, Gunvolt will gain access to destructive new psychic and electric abilities, though each one runs off of a shared “cooldown” gauge; overusing Gunvolt’s abilities will cause him to overheat, resulting in a complete loss of all electrical attacks.
Inti Creates is also responsible for the Mega Man Zero saga, Gal Gun, and the character-artwork used in WayForward’s Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse. Azure Striker Gunvolt and its “demake” cross-over counterpart Mighty Gunvolt were the developer’s first self-published games.
