‘Earth Defense Force 4.1’ Comes To PC Very Soon

The updated Sony-exclusive version of Earth Defense Force 2025 is heading to Steam this month with select DLC available at launch.

What began as a low-budget Simple Series PS2 title alongside the Onechanbara franchise, D3 Publisher’s Earth Defense Force has since reached cult-classic status across Japan and North America. The series follows the titular EDF and their marginal victories in the ongoing war against giant insects and alien armies. The franchise may be lacking in the visual department compared to other titles from both console generations, however EDF features some of the largest enemies and destructible objects in gaming, with “skybox” dominating, screen-filling robots and motherships. The fourth installment of the series, Earth Defense Force 2025 recently received a Sony-exclusive updated version- Earth Defense Force 4.1: The Shadow of New Despair. The PS4 release features updated visuals, new aliens, new dragon enemies, and a gigantic player-controlled mech-suit.

D3 Publisher announced earlier today that the PS4-exclusive EDF 4.1 is coming to Steam very soon- “soon” as in four days. The Steam version will include online co-op, English and Japanese voice options, and a multitude of DLC options at launch. The required system specs are as follows courtesy of Steam:
