Following the US release of Senran Kagura Burst on the Nintendo 3DS eShop, Marvelous AQL has announced three more titles featuring the buxom ninjas-in-training.
Yesterday during a live-stream event held by Marvelous AQL in Japan, three new titles in the Senran Kagura series were announced, including a new side-scrolling beat-em-up for the 3DS, a rhythm-based cooking game for the PS Vita, and a detail-less fighting game for multiple Sony platforms.
Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson is a follow-up to Senran Kagura Burst on the 3DS: Unlike its predecessor, Deep Crimson features two-player gameplay, and an entirely stereoscopic presentation; Burst featured stereoscopic 3D in the “hub area” cutscenes, but not in actual combat. Characters still move within a 3D environment, but players now have the option of using “tag-teams” of two selected Shinobi for additional health and combat tactics. According to Famitsu, Deep Crimson will feature local two-player co-op; an online function has not been confirmed. In addition to the new dual-character mechanics, Deep Crimson will be the first Senran Kagura game to feature male playable characters, including two new characters- Kagura and Naraku- and Murasame (older brother of Ikaruga) available to those who have existing save-data from Senran Kagura Burst.
Senran Kagura 2: Deep Crimson has a Japanese release date of 8/7/14.
Two new titles will be coming to the PS Vita in the forms of Dekamori Senran Kagura and Senran Kagura: EV (Estival Versus). Dekamori Senran Kagura is a “hyper big-breasted cooking-rhythm game” developed by Meteorise- creators of Android/iOS title Cross Horizon. Dekamori has characters facing off against each other in cooking contests; the player competes to make the largest meal by pressing certain inputs in rhythm with on-screen prompts. The title’s opening video, along with gameplay were both shown during Marvelous AQL’s stream:
Senran Kagura: EV (Estival Versus) was revealed through Famitsu; no details were given, other than it will have ties to previous PS Vita title Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus, and will be available for multiple PlayStation platforms- possibly PS Vita and PS3 and/or PS4.
