According to Senran Kagura Burst publisher XSEED, the title sold “well enough” in the US that the company is considering the localization of more titles in the series.
Senran Kagura Burst released in the US last November through the Nintendo 3DS eShop. Despite the blatant focus on the “assets” of its characters, the title functions as a solid 2D beat-em-up, which the 3DS library currently lacks a collection of. Earlier in the week, XSEED responded to a fan’s question through Facebook in regards to other Senran Kagura titles coming to the US- specifically Senran Kagura Shinovi Vs., and the upcoming Dekamori Senran Kagura and Senran Kagura 2. Because of US sales, XSEED is “open to considering other iterations in the series”.
The Senran Kagura franchise is popular enough in Japan to warrant games across the Nintendo 3DS, PS Vita and mobile devices, along with an anime and manga series. Three new games for Japan have already been announced, including a sequel to the 3DS title, a rhythm-cooking game hybrid, and a new game in the Versus series.
