‘Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-‘ Limited Edition Coming To NA

Both the PS3 and PS4 versions of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- are almost here, and will each feature their own Limited Editions upon launch.

It’s been several years since Guilty Gear fans have seen a proper new installment of the series. While several games have been released over the past decade, with the exception of Guilty Gear 2: Overture, most of them have been updates to Guilty Gear XX and its core gameplay engine. Set to release for consoles this December in Japan, Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is a brand new title for the Fighter franchise, equipped with new mechanics, and a new visual style courtesy of Unreal Engine. With the new visuals, each character looks like a high-definition 2D character sprite…until the camera spins around upon special attacks to reveal that each character is in fact a cel-shaded 3D model.

According to a recent announcement from Aksys Games, the North American releases of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- will feature an optional Limited Edition for both the PS3 and PS4 versions. Both the PS3 and PS4 versions will include the following content (courtesy of Aksys):

  • “The Backyard” – The outer box for the Limited Edition features a replica of “The Backyard” complete with gears and high-quality binding. Dare to open the book to uncover all the goodies (game included)!
  • Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Official Soundtrack – The Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- soundtrack is filled with the hard rocking tunes!
  • Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- Character Book – What limited edition is without its art book? The Character Book features a profile for each character from Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- as well as those from Guilty Gear Accent Core Plus and Guilty Gear X2 Overture
Also includes a glossary of terms; a complete character history for those who have some catching up to do
  • Sol Badguy “Free” Keychain – Inscribed with the word “FREE,” this metal keychain is a scaled replica of the original belt buckle worn by Sol! Add it to your keys to show off something truly unique!

The PS3 version of the Limited Edition will run at $69.99, with the PS4 version being slightly more expensive at $79.99. While the standard PS3 and PS4 versions can be pre-ordered through GameStop and other retailers, the Limited Edition packages are currently Amazon-exclusive items.

Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- is scheduled to release for consoles on 12/4 in Japan, with the North American coming this Holiday season.
