The robotic monk and angelic healer are highlighted in a new pair of gameplay videos for Blizzard’s class-based FPS, Overwatch.
Unveiled during BlizzCon 2014, Overwatch is a brand new competitive FPS from Blizzard. The chaotic team-based shooter features a plethora of class-based characters, akin to Valve’s Team Fortress 2. Players can enter the frenzy with the likes of Zarya’s heavy artillery, Tracer’s time-bending abilities, or Reinhardt’s massive hammer; 14 characters have been announced, with Zarya and McCree being the latest additions.
A series of Brief character-specific gameplay vignettes were released shortly after the official reveal, however Overwatch fans can finally see the game in-action with two videos released this week. Two full matches featuring Zenyatta and Mercy are now available, featuring the “Temple of Anubis” Capture Point map, and the hybrid Capture Point/Payload map “King’s Row”. Both videos are presented at 1080p with 60fps, and also mark the debut of Overwatch‘s match UI, “Player” highlight, and “Play of the Game” post-match replay, and “Kill Cam” post-death replay:
A release date has not been scheduled for Overwatch, however Blizzard is hosting a PC Beta later this year.
