More characters and their roles have been revealed for the wild three-studio cross-over RPG, Project X Zone 2.

2013’s Nintendo-exclusive Project X Zone was the byproduct of a collaboration between three of Japan’s iconic game studios. Developed by Monolith Soft, the tactical-RPG/Fighter hybrid featured over 40 characters from various franchises represented between Capcom, Sega and Bandai Namco. A direct sequel was announced earlier this year, featuring an expanded universe and even more characters from the represented companies.

While several of the following characters have already been revealed through previous announcements, screenshots and trailers, Famitsu released more details regarding “Paired Units” and “Solo Units” in Project X Zone 2 (“Project X Zone 2: Brave New World” in Japan). Morrigan and Chun-Li are no longer a Paired Unit, but will instead be respectively partnered with Dimitri and Ling Xiaoyu. God Eater‘s Alisa and Virtua Fighter‘s Pai Chen are returning, however both characters are now interchangeable Solo Units; Alisa has also been redesigned after her God Eater 2 appearance. The protagonist of Shinobi spiritual-sequel Nightshade, Hibana is now confirmed to be in Project X Zone 2 acting as a Solo Unit.

Monolith Soft originally planned for a simultaneous worldwide release on the Nintendo 3DS, however Project X Zone 2 will now release in Japan on 11/12, with the North American version arriving in Q1 2016.
