The wild Capcom/Sega/Bandai Namco cross-over 3DS title Project X Zone is getting a sequel, set to launch sometime this Fall.
Project X Zone released as a Nintendo 3DS exclusive back in June 2013. The ambitious title roped in more than 50 playable characters from the Who’s Who of the Capcom, Bandai Namco and Sega archives, featuring the likes of Arthur (Ghouls and Ghosts), KOS-MOS and T-ELOS (Xenosaga), Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine (Resident Evil), “original” Dante (Devil May Cry), Batsu (Rival Schools, Project Justice) and more. While some may have criticized it for its extensive completion time- 30 hours minimum- Project X Zone utilized a bizarre, yet satisfying blend of tactical RPG and Fighting genre mechanics.
Yesterday afternoon, developer Monolith Soft announced that it would be once again teaming up with Bandai Namco, Capcom and Sega to continue the Project X Zone saga, with Project X Zone 2: Brave New World. (Note: The subtitle “Brave New World” is only present in the Japanese announcement trailer.) While it may be void of gameplay, a new trailer shows off plenty of returning heroes and newcomers to the saga:
