Shantae’s arch-nemesis is finally playable in the new DLC campaign for Half-Genie Hero.

Shantae developer WayForward finally gave fans something they’ve longed for since the series debut on the Game Boy Color- the chance to play as Shantae’s pirate nemesis, Risky Boots. Apart from being a successful crowdfunding project itself, prequel title Shantae: Half-Genie Hero received a brand new DLC campaign , courtesy of generous fans achieving the $500,000 stretch goal from the 2013 Kickstarter campaign. “Pirate Queen’s Quest” sees players guiding Risky Boots on her hunt for the “Dynamo” components; though the featured levels may be remixed stages from Shantae’s story, Risky comes equipped with her own repertoire of techniques inspired by her boss encounters from previous games, and the pirate-gear abilities from Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse.

Those who contributed to either the official Kickstarter or WayForward’s “Slacker Backer” campaigns should receive a DLC code via email, their official WayForward website account, or through Backer_Kit, but anyone on the outside may purchase the Pirate Queen’s Quest campaign shortly, as it’s still expected to go live today.

Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, Nintendo Switch and PS Vita.
