Boxer extraordinaire Vanessa finally returns to the King of Fighters tournament as DLC later this year.

Housewife by day, elite mercenary by night, Vanessa is finally returning to the King of Fighters stage as a DLC character for The King of Fighters XIV. Vanessa made her playable debut back in KOF2000 as the saga’s first female boxing competitor. Most of Vanessa’s signature techniques will return for her future KOFXIV appearance, including her unexpectedly strong punches, the ability to reflect projectiles with her fists, and her near-teleportation level speed.

Vanessa has no official release date, but will release as the third DLC character following Whip and Ryuji Yamazaki. According to some crafty sprite manipulation by fans and a “leaked” list of potential characters from last Summer- all of whom have appeared in-game thus far- the fourth DLC character is rumored to be Shingo Yabuki, a fighter absent from the series since KOF2002: Unlimited Match.

The King of Fighters XIV is available exclusively for the PS4.
