‘Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR-‘ “Kum Haehyun” DLC Gets Screenshots, New Details

Guilty Gear‘s Kum Haehyun and her cyborg shell have been detailed courtesy of the latest issue of Famitsu.

Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- is the next chapter of the bombastic Guilty Gear fighting game series, following the saga’s next-gen debut of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. Continuing the new emulated 2D look through a highly customized Unreal Engine 3, -REVELATOR- features several new mechanics, a gameplay setting for new players, an expanded soundtrack, new stages and variants, and a brand new story mode. Five new characters will be added to the roster; Johhny, Jack-O and Jam Kuradoberi are currently playable in the Japanese arcade build, however the console release will also feature the fan-voted Dizzy, and the recently announced Kum Haehyun.

Kum Haehyun isn’t playable in the current build of -REVELATOR-, though “he” does appear in Leo Whitefang’s Arcade Mode. The character is actually an autonomous shell controlled by a woman- the real Kum Haehyun; a descendant of the “Mind Tuners” and the current leader of the Kum family, Haehyun fights within a muscular cyborg karate master named “Jonryoku Kum”. Depicted by the additional screenshots provided by Famitsu, Jonryoku fights using traditional martial arts; being of the Tuner lineage, Haehyun can amplify Jonryoku’s strikes by manipulating their Ki energy:

Kum Haehyun will be available at launch for free alongside first-print copies; the same promotion was held for Elphelt during the release window of Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN-. A North American date has not been scheduled, however Guilty Gear Xrd -REVELATOR- will release for PS3 and PS4 in Japan on 5/26.
